Troops Training Guide

Dark War Survival Wiki Troops training guide

Troops are the backbone of your military force in Dark War Survival. You use them for PvE battles (like hunting monsters), PvP fights (attacking or defending bases), and gathering resources. Training stronger and higher-tier troops significantly increases your power and survivability. Managing troop tiers, speed-ups, and training capacity is key to long-term success.

Where to Train Troops

Troops are trained in three different camps, each corresponding to a troop type:

Each camp needs to be built and upgraded to unlock higher troop tiers.

Troop Tiers

There are 10 troop tiers (T1 to T10). Higher-tier troops have better stats and significantly more combat power but also take longer to train and cost more resources.

Training Requirements

To train troops, you need:

  • Food
  • Wood
  • Iron
  • Power
  • Free Barracks space (training queue slots)

Troop training also takes time, which increases with troop tier and quantity. Speed-up items and training boosts help reduce this time.

Troop Tier Stats

This table outlines the core statistics of each troop tier in Dark War Survival, from Tier 1 to Tier 10. These stats directly influence your armyโ€™s effectiveness in battle, resource gathering, and overall combat power contribution.

  • Attack: The amount of damage each troop deals during combat.
  • Defense: Reduces the incoming damage from enemy troops.
  • HP (Health Points): Determines how much damage a troop can take before being defeated.
  • Speed: The movement speed of the troop, which affects how quickly they travel on the map (constant across all tiers).
  • Load: The amount of resources a troop can carry during gathering or after combat victories.
  • Combat Power: The total power contribution of one unit of that tier to your overall army strength.

Higher-tier troops offer significant improvements in survivability and power, but also come with increased training costs and time.
There is no difference in troops stats between Fighters, Shooters and Riders.

Promoting Troops

Troop promotion allows you to upgrade existing troops to a higher tier without having to train new ones from scratch. This system is especially valuable for keeping your army strong and efficient as your Training Camps reach higher levels and unlock more advanced tiers.

Key Features of Promotion:

  • Efficiency: Promoting troops costs fewer resources and takes less time than training new higher-tier troops.
  • Progression: You can only promote troops one tier at a time (e.g., Tier 1 โ†’ Tier 2, Tier 2 โ†’ Tier 3, etc.).
  • Requirements:
    • The corresponding troop training building (e.g., Rider Camp, Shooter Camp, Fighter Camp) must be upgraded enough to unlock the target tier.
    • Sufficient resources (Wood, Iron, and Power) must be available.
    • Promotion time depends on the number of troops being upgraded and the tier level.

Benefits of Promoting:

  • Retains the investment made in lower-tier troops.
  • Quickly increases combat power and troop effectiveness.
  • Frees up training queues for producing fresh troops while existing ones are being upgraded.

Tip: Promoting troops is a great way to boost your army’s strength during events that reward you for power increases, such as Troop Training or Might Challenges.

Use troop promotion strategically to optimize your resources, time, and overall military growth.
Here is the full table of Promoting costs, considering promoting troops until tier 8.

The table below shows the resource and time costs required to promote 75 troops from one tier to the next. Promotion becomes available once you’ve unlocked the next troop tier in your camp buildings (Shooter Camp, Fighter Camp, or Rider Camp). Promoting troops is generally more efficient than training new ones of the same tier.

Why Promote Instead of Train?

Based on cost comparisons, promoting troops is more efficient than training high-tier troops from scratch. For example, the total cost of training Tier 5 troops and then promoting them up to Tier 8 is identical to the cost of training Tier 8 troops directly โ€” but promotion allows you to process a much larger number of troops in the same timeframe and resource budget.

Thereโ€™s no cost penalty or time increase from promoting versus training, so it is strategically optimal to train lower-tier troops early and promote them as soon as higher tiers become available. This ensures faster army growth and better use of training queues and resources.

As more tier data becomes available, this guide will be updated to maintain accuracy.
